Adjudicator: Mr Dave Bennet GoDA, SASDA
Dave is chair of the Scottish Association of Speech and Drama Adjudicators (SASDA) and holds an Honours Degree in Theatre Studies from Rose Bruford.

Dave has extensive experience in the issues surrounding amateur drama and was fortunate enough, many years ago, to be part of the British Final One Act Festival winners on separate occasions both as a director and actor.

Dave has been involved with theatre for over 40 years and is still learning. Dave has taught acting, directing and technical theatre to honours degree level. He is a Senior External Verifier with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) for Drama and Theatre Arts along with Technical Theatre. Part of his remit is to make sure that quality standards are maintained throughout Scotland, England and Wales in the area of Technical Theatre.

Dave has extensive experience of educational and training aspects of theatre and drama and has a particular interest in developing the actor’s confidence and skills through the use of the Meisner acting technique. He has empathy with the performer, director and technicians, having run his own theatre company for ten years for which he is an Artistic Director. Dave aims to provide a constructive and supportive adjudication whilst being truthful as a critical spectator.
